Annual Forum 2026

Apr 13 | 7:00 pm Apr 15 | 3:00 pm Toronto EST

Join with your peers in Mississauga, ON, as keynote speaker Terry LeBlanc explores “Power, Partnership & Purpose: What does justice look like in faith-based development?

As faith-based organizations engaged in development work, we sense the call to pursue justice with dignity and mutuality. In practice, however, whose voices shape our operational vision?

This Forum will invite participants to reflect on the power dynamics influencing who sets the agenda, who makes the decisions, and ultimately who benefits — both locally and globally. Why do some efforts, like those supporting women and children, for example, attract significant support, while initiatives led by Indigenous leaders and/or traditional authorities often remain underfunded?

In light of our faith, what does true partnership look like — especially when donors and institutions hold the larger share of financial and/or structural power?

Through dialogue and reflection, we’ll explore what it means to shift from “doing charity” to “being in solidarity”, and from offering inclusion to creating shared ownership in the work of God’s restoration.

We’ll spend time in reflection and worship, hearing from our keynote speaker, learning from workshop facilitators, and learning in both structured and unstructured ways. Kentro Christian Network will also be holding our annual general meeting during the conference, as well as hosting an opening reception, and special dinner for attendees.

** All participants are asked to read and abide by Kentro’s Principles of Welcome & Learning, which can be found here: https://kentronetwork.ca/kentro-principles-of-welcome-learning
