Report Launch: The State of Fundraising for Canadian Christian Relief and Development Organizations
Jan 21, 2025 | 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm EST
For more than a decade, the number of Canadians making charitable donations has declined. And after the pandemic bump in donations and irregular fundraising numbers, many organizations experienced softer fundraising performance in 2023 and 2024.
The truth is, most charities are relying on fewer and fewer people to do more and more of the giving. It can be attributed to many reasons—donor fatigue, inflation, eroding trust in institutions, decline of religiously motivated giving, and more.
That’s why KENTRO worked with BuildGood and Focus Further Solutions to analyze the donor files and fundraising performance of participating members to assess the state of fundraising for Canadian Christian relief and development organizations
While not true benchmarks, this report paints a clear picture of where Kentro members are with their fundraising and revenue generation. Join Mike from BuildGood and Sigrid from Focus Further Solutions as they walk through the key findings from the research, including:
- The growing gap between lapsed donors and new donor acquisition
- The importance of 2nd gift conversion—and why the amount matters
- The surprising number of major donors whose first gift is below $500
- How many gifts it takes on average for a ‘mass’ donor to become a ‘major’ donor
- The amount of the average gift in will over the last 5 years—and who is making those gifts
Join us for the launch of this first-ever research project commissioned by Kentro as it relates to fundraising performance, and walk away with insights about how to improve your own fundraising.
